Deena Khalil
Takween Integrated Community Development
Deena Khalil is currently the Research and Advocacy Unit Manager at Takween Integrated Community Development, an urban development consultancy focusing on underserved communities and urban issues in Egypt. She is also a PhD candidate at University College London (UCL) where she is studying the politics of access to potable water and infrastructure in Cairo’s informal areas. Prior to this, she obtained her M.A. in Economics of International Development at the American University in Cairo, and worked as a project coordinator and researcher on studies related to HIV-AIDS, water and sanitation, and monitoring and evaluation in Egypt, Sudan, and the MENA region more broadly.
