Cengiz Arikan

Data Scientist, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Istanbul Centre

Cengiz Arikan is currently a data scientist at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Istanbul Centre, where he focuses on gender, connectivity, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and statistics. Prior to joining the OECD, he worked as a trade expert at the Ministry of Trade of Türkiye, contributing to various departments for over nine years. Between 2011 and 2013, he served as an Assistant Revenue Expert at the Turkish Revenue Administration. Mr. Arıkan holds a bachelor's degree in Statistics from Hacettepe University, as well as a Master's and Ph.D. in Econometrics from Gazi University. He is the author of several academic articles across various fields, including energy, tourism, monetary policy, and health economics. His academic interests include multivariate time series, panel data analysis, asymmetric relations, and spatial econometrics.
