Bilal Malaeb
Economist, Poverty and Equity Global Practice, The World Bank
Bilal Malaeb is an economist at the World Bank’s Poverty and Equity Global Practice. His research interests include labor markets, migration, poverty and inequality. Bilal is also a visiting fellow at the London School of Economics (LSE). Prior to joining the World Bank, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the LSE, University of Oxford, and University of Southampton. Bilal has previously served as consultant to the World Bank, ILO, IFAD, IGC LSE-Oxford Commission on State Fragility, among others. He holds a BA in Economics from the American University of Beirut, and MSc and PhD in Economics from the University of Manchester.
