Asmaa Elbadawy
Independent Consultant
Dr. Asmaa Elbadawy is an independent consultant focused on the economics of education in Egypt. Her research examines issues of access to education, inequality in education, impacts of international migration on children’s education, and impacts of education on marital outcomes for women. Current projects include work on the drivers of tutoring. Dr. Elbadawy completed her Ph.D. in Economics from McMaster University, Canada in 2009 and holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Waterloo, Canada. She presented her work in numerous regional and international conference. She worked as a research officer at the Population Council’s country office in Egypt between 2009 and 2012. She currently conducts research independently on consultancy basis for international organizations and donors.
