Amal Khreisheh

General Director, Palestinian Working Women for Development

Amal Khreishe is a grassroots feminist and political leader who has served as the General Director of the Palestinian Working Woman Society for Development since 1995. Through PWWSD, Ms. Khreishe has led many campaigns to advance women’s roles and rights in society, including the first program in Palestine to support the international community’s focus on ending violence against women. Additionally, she has been involved in strategizing around women’s rights and the transition to democracy in the Arab World from a feminist perspective through different regional forums. Ms. Khreishe received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Jordanian University and a master’s degree in international studies from Birzeit University.
