Amal Mohamed Abdelfattah is an assistant professor of Statistics at the faculty of graduate studies for statistical research, Cairo University since August 2016. Amal has been working as an assistant lecturer teaching Statistics and Econometrics since 2010 and as a teaching assistant from 2006-2010 at the Applied Statistics and Econometrics department, the Cairo University. Moreover, Amal has 1 year of practical experience as a statistician in AC Nelson, in the research and development (R&D) department from September 2010 till September 2011 as well as a consultant at the Egyptian Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center - IDSC. She received her BSc majoring in Statistics and minoring in Computer Science in 2005 from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS), Cairo University. In 2010, she obtained her MSc in Statistics and Econometrics from FEPS. In March 2016, Amal was awarded a PhD in Statistics and Econometrics from FEPS on the K-class estimator for the seemingly unrelated regression models. Abdelfattah is an expert in quantitative methods and their applications in Climate Sciences, Natural Resources & Environmental Economics, Energy, and Development. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed papers in academic journals, working papers and book chapters.
