Alexander Plekhanov

Director, Transition Impact and Global Economics, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

Alexander Plekhanov is Director, Transition Impact and Global Economics, at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. He edits the Transition Report, the annual economic report of the EBRD, and the Regional Economic Prospects. His responsibilities also include trade policy and analysis of development impact of EBRD projects. Previously Alexander covered economic developments Russia, Belarus, Mongolia, Central Asia and a number of other economies. Alexander joined the Bank in October 2007. Prior to that, he worked as an economist at the International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC. Alexander holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Cambridge.
