Alejandro Montoya Castano

Alejandro Montoya Castano is an advisor for the Colombian Directorate of taxes and customs (DIAN). He obtained his Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He has experience as a consultant working for Econometria Consultores in Colombia and IFAD, on projects related to land restitution and fertilizers. He also worked as an Economic advisor for the Mobility and Job Training Department of the Ministry of Labor of Colombia and as a lecturer in the Economics Department at the University of Antioquia. His research interests are focused on emerging issues in development economics and the economics of education.
