Abdelaziz Alsharawy is a third year PhD student in the economics department at Virginia Tech. His research interests include behavioral and experimental economics, development economics, labor economics and neuroeconomics. He is interested in applying behavioral economics’ concepts like the study of nudges, time inconsistency, risk aversion and peer effects as they relate to tackling development issues. He holds a master’s degree in economics from Virginia Tech (2017) and a bachelor’s degree in economics and finance from Saint Anselm College (2016).
