On the second day of the Economic Research Forum’s Annual Conference, we recorded a short interview with Hillary Johnson and got her feedback on the timely theme of the conference: corruption. Johnson stresses on the importance of communication between researchers and policymakers to create change.
Corruption is seen as one of the forces that fuelled the Arab Spring. One of the ripple effects was a wave of reforms that swept the region; one that needs sound planning and recognizing corruption where it exists. One of the issues that warrants the most attention, becomes how to create new processes, that do away with the status quo and prevent the emergence of corruption in the future.
