Aya Aboulhosn

Aya Aboulhosn is a PhD Candidate of Economics at American University, Washington DC, and in the final year of her doctoral studies. She is an applied microeconomist working on topics related to health, migration, gender and AI. She is currently a J-PAL MENA Fellow and a consultant with the World Bank’s Development Economics Vice Presidency (DEC), working on the 2026 World Development Report—Artificial Intelligence for Development. She is expected to graduate in May 2026.
