Mounir Dahmani is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Gafsa in Tunisia. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Paris-Sud in 2011, specializing in the analysis of technological performance in the higher education sector. Following his Ph.D., Dr. Dahmani conducted postdoctoral research at the Ecole Polytechnique of Paris, focusing on information economics. His academic career has been marked by extensive contributions to fields such as environmental economics, digitalization, and climate policy. As a senior negotiator representing Tunisia at COP25 in Madrid, he actively participated in shaping international environmental policy. Dr. Dahmani's research portfolio covers areas such as climate change economics, energy transition, and sustainable development. His recent work explores pathways for decoupling carbon emissions from economic growth in Tunisia, and assesses the role of environmental taxes and eco-innovation in promoting sustainable development. In addition, his research examines energy resource capacity and its impact on environmental quality in countries at different income levels. Through various collaborative research projects, Dr. Dahmani addresses critical issues such as the impact of environmental policies on economic resilience, the integration of renewable energy in developing countries, and the transition to a low-carbon future. His research has been published in high-impact journals, demonstrating his commitment to advancing knowledge in energy economics and development policy.
