Sustainable Energy Management Expert, Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE)
Khalid Salmi is a Sustainable Energy Management Expert at the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE). Graduated as a mechanical energy engineer and holds an MSc degree in Renewable Energy Engineering, he joined RCREEE in 2014. As an Expert, Khalid Salmi is actively leading the management of RCREEE’s standardization and certification unit, in addition to the development of the green hydrogen portfolio within the center, aiming to align the green hydrogen impetus in the Arab region with the global standardized practices and actions, and to unlock the real PtX potential in RCREEE member states in a manner to maximize the economical, social and environmental benefits of this promoting industry across the Arab region. With over 10 years of professional experience, and under several projects and activities, Khalid Salmi used to lead and coordinate different projects and program of activities in close cooperation between the Arab governments and various international development organizations, including IGOs, development banks, IFIs, UN programs, in addition to other alliances and networks involved in the energy industry and green economy affairs worldwide. This practical expertise covered different working axes around the important role of the green technologies and practices as effective instruments for the sustainable management of resources, and the deployment of new clean energy vectors, toward tackling the economic and environmental challenges at all levels.
