Inci Gumus
Associate Professor of Economics, Sabanci University
Inci Gumus is an associate professor of economics at Sabanci University. She completed her PhD in economics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2006. Her field of expertise is international macroeconomics and she has worked on sovereign default risk, currency crises and exchange rate regimes in emerging market economies. Her recent research mainly focuses on analyzing business cycles in relation to private sector credit and housing market in emerging markets. Dr. Gumus has led several research projects funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey and received the Young Scientist Award by the Science Academy in Turkey in 2018. Dr. Gumus’ work has been published in the Journal of International Economics, Journal of International Money and Finance, Real Estate Economics, Economic Inquiry among others. She has been a visiting scholar at the International Monetary Fund, University of Maryland and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey.
