Hebatalla Atef Emam

Hebatalla Atef Emam is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University, where she teaches International Finance, Macroeconomic Theory and Feasibility Study courses. She obtained her MSc. and PhD degrees in Economics from the same faculty in 2012 and 2018, respectively. Her MSc. thesis covered the Determinants of Portfolio Investments in Emerging Markets, while her PhD thesis tackled the issue of Assessing the Independence of the Central Bank of Egypt. At present, she is also acting as an economic research expert at the Central Bank of Egypt, where she has carried out some quantitative studies on the Egyptian economy. Moreover, she contributed as an economic expert in consultancy/research projects funded/supervised by the USAID in Egypt, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and the Institute of National Planning. Her research interests incorporate monetary economics, central banking, international finance, and macroeconomics, where she published some research papers in international peer-reviewed journals. This is in addition to her nomination as a Reviewer in some international peer-reviewed journals like Applied Economics. She has also participated in international conferences like ASSA annual meetings and MEEA annual conferences (where she was granted the Ibn Khaldun Prize in 2020 for the best paper award).
