Elizabeth Griesmer
Displacement Tracking Matrix Associate, International Organization for Migration
Liz Griesmer works as an Associate for the International Organization for Migration (IOM)’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Unit in London. In this role, she pursues research on the gendered aspects of migration and displacement, while also supporting emergency humanitarian response and data collection activities in countries such as Afghanistan. In tandem, she works with IOM’s Middle East and North Africa Regional Data Hub on its region-wide analysis of mobility trends. She is currently developing an assessment of the socioeconomic impact of COVID-19 on migrants and displaced populations across 8 MENA countries, as well as an in-depth assessment of the pandemic’s consequences in Tunisia. Prior to joining IOM, Liz worked for the New York law firm Skarzynski Marick & Black LLP, the Yale Law School chapter of the International Refugee Assistance Project, the refugee resettlement agency Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services, the Feminist Majority Foundation and the United States Senate. She completed her M.A. in Global Affairs from Yale University first in her class and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Vassar College with a B.A. in Political Science and French and Francophone Studies.
