Racha Ramadan (Cairo University) was a panelist in the special session Rethinking Inequality in Arab States, which took place during the ERF 24th Annual Conference.
In the video below, she explains that the joint ERF-ESCWA report on inequality examines 12 Arab countries and looks at the both aspects of inequality, of outcome and opportunities. The objective is to tackle different aspects of inequality and understanding the determinants of inequality in the different Arab countries, to be able to provide policy recommendations based on each country's specific situation.
The Economic Research Forum’s 24th Annual Conference is held in Cairo, Egypt, on 8-10 July, 2018. The main theme of the plenary sessions is “The New Normal in the Global Economy: Challenges and Prospects for MENA”. The conference aims to draw on the lessons learned from the restructuring of the economic order across the region, particularly in light of the wide-ranging consequences of the decline in oil prices.
