The Political Challenge of Enhancing Competition

This project explored the role of regulation relating to corruption and competition in addressing some of the key challenges of young democracies, drawing on the experience of Turkey. The paper looked at both the conditions necessary for political support for these initiatives, as well as institutional and legal design issues and came up with recommendations for the young Arab democracies.
