Egypt: Youth Essay Competition

A dynamic Private Sector and Entrepreneurship are vital for growth, economic development, and job creation. In the current socioeconomic context, social entrepreneurship can play an important factor in the growth recovery for Egypt. Social entrepreneurship builds on solutions that are driven by individuals and communities, and supported by the state. It responds to market demand and addresses the needs of people, thereby creating a social benefit.

Subscribing to this vision, the Economic Research Forum (ERF) in partnership with the World Bank celebrated the launch of the second Egypt Youth Essay Competition, under the new topic “Innovative solutions to promote (social) entrepreneurship and tackle social challenges in their communities”, on May 24, 2017.

In this event, winners presented their essays to an audience of policy makers, civil society actors, academics, media representatives and other stakeholders. At the end of the ceremony, they received their awards.
