NADA is a web-based cataloging system that serves as a portal for researchers to browse, search, compare, apply for access, and download relevant survey micro data. It was originally developed to support the establishment of national survey data archives. The application is used by a diverse and growing number of national, regional, and international organizations. NADA uses the Data Documentation Initiative (DDI), XML-based international metadata standard.

ERF micro data are made available, for free, in both SPSS and/or STATA formats, through NADA for all researchers upon a quick and simple registration process, aiming at controlling the access to the micro data while protecting its confidentiality.

To register for access to the ERF micro data via ERF data portal, please follow these steps:

  • Step 1: Complete and submit the ERF data portal user Registration Form
  • Step 2: Activate your account through the user ID and password received via e-mail
  • Step 3: Fill in a Micro Data Request Form for each of the surveys you are interested in
  • Step 4: Micro Data Requests are reviewed within 5 working days. Subject to the information provided, approval to download the data will be granted or denied. In some cases, more information is required
  • When the user is granted an approval to download the data, an email is sent to the user providing the links that can be used to download the required data.

Upon using the dataset, the user should use the suggested citation provided for each dataset on the portal under “Access Policy”.

It is worth also noting that ERF micro data should ONLY be used for scholarly research, or educational purposes. Users are prohibited from using data acquired from the Economic Research Forum in the pursuit of any commercial or private ventures.
