Bernard Hoekman

Professor and Director, Global Economics, Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute

Bernard Hoekman joined the European University Institute (Florence, Italy) in 2013, where he is Professor and Director, Global Economics at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies. He is a CEPR Research Fellow; a senior associate of the Economic Research Forum for the Arab countries, Iran and Turkey; member of the UK Centre for Inclusive Trade Policy. A graduate of the Erasmus University Rotterdam, he holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan. His research focuses on international trade and development, EU external policy, trade in services, public procurement, and the multilateral trading system.
